Best known for his work at Chez Panisse, as well as his own business Max Gill Design, Max Gill is a creative powerhouse with a devotion to local flowers. His creativity feeds off of the California blooms that surround him as well as what is grown in his own cutting garden. This lifelong botanical creator resides in Berkeley and acquired his skills and incredible eye for design from drawing, gardening, sculpture, painting, even the history of theater. Max has cultivated quite the style throughout his career and we are so thrilled to offer this workshop!
The first half of the course will be focused on centerpiece design. While the second half will be devoted to his unique bouquet creations. Learn through creating alongside Max with an endless supply of SWGMC blooms. You’ll be designing in beautifully made CAT ceramics compotes and using Hana Silk ribbon. Plus you’ll be able to add to your design portfolio with professional photographs by Jenn Tai. Lunch is included.
