Max Gill Workshop

at Jello Mold Farm

After receiving his degree in Environmental Science from UC Berkeley, Max was compelled by more creative pursuits, eventually finding floral design the perfect medium as it seemed to him to draw from all of his greatest passions: gardening, sculpture, painting and art and theater history. Originally from upstate New York, Max has called the Bay Area home for almost 35 years.  Perhaps best known for his work at Chez Panisse where he has done the flowers for over a decade, Max started Max Gill Design in 2005 and now offers full floral services for weddings, special events and private clients. Following the huge success of last year’s workshop, we are proud to have Max back again this year at our market.

Immerse yourself in a full day of flower paradise with this floral design workshop & farm tour led by creative powerhouse Max Gill. Begin your morning with a walk thru farm tour of Jello Mold Farm hosted by owners Diane Szukovathy & Dennis Westphall. Afterward, head to their famous red barn for a two-part workshop focused around designing arrangements for mantel pieces. In part one, Max will lead you through creating a large-scale focal arrangement. Break between sessions with a catered lunch eaten al fresco (weather pending) on Jello Mold’s beautiful property. Resume for part two, which will focus on smaller complementary arrangements. End the day with a professional photoshoot of your finished designs to use for your personal portfolio.
